As the end of the school year approaches, finals season begins. With big events, AP exams, final projects and plain everyday life, students are more stressed than ever. Everyone’s asking, “how can I be less stressed?” But no one is asking the truly important question, how can I be more stressed?
As you follow through, you should only It’s easy to start your day off stressful. When you wake up and see the rain outside, you know you’re in for a rough ride to school. Especially for everyone who drives themselves.
“Driving through traffic to get to this school in the rain is incredibly dangerous, the roads are slick, people are distracted,” Marks said.
But you don’t need to be behind the wheel to feel the pressure, you can feel it just crossing the street.
“Cross [the street] to Hayfield Elementary. I have to cross [cross there and] back everyday. It’s terrifying, [the] cars don’t want to stop. [They will] inch up and threaten to hit you or one car will stop and then another car will whip around,” government teacher, Brian Gillespie said.
Once you get into the building, there are some great ways to add some excess stress into your life. And it’s not just students who stretch themselves thin, teacher’s like Rob Specketer are victims to this as well.
“[Make sure to] sign up for as many obligations as possible, [especially ones you] don’t have to do,” Specketer said.
But even the things you’re assigned will stress you out, especially when the assignments pile up.
“When you have a lot of homework, procrastinate as long as possible,” junior Graham Belt said.
But even as high school comes to an end, and the work disappears, there is always something to be stressed about in the future. Graduation is approaching, seniors want to look the best at their final event of high school. If you want to increase your stress levels, senior Ava Derks has advice for you.
“If you really want to be stressed, you should try your makeup or hair [for the first time] the day before you have [an event],” Derks said.
And for all our musicians, we have advice for you too! When a new season begins and you have new music to practice, there are always ways to add to your stress.
“[You should] only practice what you are already good at,” senior Marcelo Malferrari said.
If you like to keep updated on current events, Derks is back with an easy, and stressful activity for you.
“Read the news every day, or every executive order,” Derks said.
Things are changing every day, and keeping up with all the new laws can send someone into a frenzy.
But, as you’re on your mission to stress yourself out, proceed with caution. Completion of everything listed above may result in ultimate stress. Instead, try to complete everything in reverse, this is the anti-guide.
